The land is destroyed. There is nothing left for anything to thrive on, nothing, humans wiped out, the fish, insects and birds all gone, but one creature remains. The equine. They have scattered about, forming separate tribes, bands, bloodthirsty and uncontrollable. There is nothing that will stop them from tasting the metallic blood on their kissers, the bones of others snapping in their jaws. The equines have turned bloodthirsty as nothing else survived. A thick smog covers the land, blocking out the harmful sun rays, closing in the poisonous gases. The land is in ruins, nothing else remains except for the skeletons of equines and the moans of others dying, for the horses who inhabit this land are no better off. Thin and weak they push on, fighting daily, dying slowly. Neither herd has gained and neither herd has lost they are still fighting each other here today, still trying to gain the land. Each herd following the foot steps of whom they chose to follow, will the suffering ever end? Will there ever be peace again?

She's Here For A Reason
Her hooves made little noise on the ground as she picked her way through the fallen equines that had been beaten in earlier battle. Her black pelt was dull from the smoke that had made its home in the short fur. Battle screams made her raise her head abruptly and prick her ears. She did not fight the urge to raise her feet in a brisk trot towards the sound. She came upon two equines and a crowd of others. She had wondered why it had been so deserted every where else. It was a battle between Frenzy and Xicution followers. She was quickly right in the middle of the crowd. Her head was thrown up into the air and she quickly felt claustrophibic and tried to get out of it. She reared and bucked right out of the crowd, snorting with her head low to the ground. She made a small and tight circle, turning once again to look at the standings. The Xicution follower was winning. Her strides lengthened as she picked up an easy lope, getting farther and farther away from the cries of wounded animals.

He hadn't an idea of what he was doing here, had no care to view the weak wenches, he needed strong ones to rule his kingdom, ones who wouldn't be afraid to defend their land, their regions. Orbs glared about in the dim lighting, it was nothing abnormal, actually it was perfectly normal. The land had been turned into something only the mind could imagine, it was terrible the devastation the two-legged kind had caused. Following the screams of the femmes he dropped his harks to the smoke covered crania as he passed a spirit mare, apparently had drank from the vile waters of the land. Eyes wide she was half dead, starved and crazy. Passing her on he went further into the lands of the vixens.
Pausing he spotted a wench, colored with charcoal three-beating away from the defeated Frenzy follower. Smirking to himself he picked up the pace and followed the black vix. Coming up beside her he slowly said, Name vix, I don't have time for you to think, so tell me your name

Her auds went sharply back as she heard the words of another; A brute. She suddenly pulled up, her head high as her feet slid her to a stop.
"If you don't have anytime, than why are you here? Go rule your lands instead of claiming a mare that's not interested."
Her words came out dull, as if she didn't really acknowledge his presence. She walked straight past him, flicking her long ebony whipcord.
"Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to go and find a stag who....looks worthy for my compainionship."
Her head turned into the stags direction as she spoke before she looked once again forward and continued. If he wanted a mare to claim, he'd better show he was worthy.

The b.astard smirked ever so slightly at the vixen's reply, and he had thought she was worth going after. Her words were dull as if she didn't care, maybe she does and maybe she doesn't, we'll find out. Giving a toss with his crania, causing the smoke hued threads to fall about his features he snorted softly.
If I wanted to have you, you'd already be mine, but if you want to stay here while the other wenches die, be my guest, b.itch
His words slid out cruel and cold as ice, poison between his ivories, seeping out between his velveteens. Twin pools stared hard at the wench for a moment then released their frightening gaze as she turned to leave. Tossing his skull in the air once more he watched the vix go, making no move to catch up with her and beg for her claimence. No that would not happen, his pride was held up to high for him to fall to the ground begging. He'd find another wench if this one didn't come back, another creature for his likings.

Her head looked over her shoulder as she looked at him with little emotion. The cruelness of his words did not bother her the least. Her audets were used to such tones.
"Key word in that sentence. "Others". I shall not die here, I am not in need of a herd, maybe one would be nice, but, it's not needed. And if you don't want me, why did you ask my name? Why did you imply an offer?"
Yup, witty. Her wit was what brought her here and kept her alive, and she wasn't going to stop using it for this one. Lightning was known to be mean and cruel, but not in the way most thought. She attacked the mind and confidence. Even though she was one of the best fighters, she would keep her skills hidden until brought out of her.
"My name is Black Lightning. And don't expect me to bow to your feet, begging to be in your herd."
Her words came out truthful and without fault. They had a small tone into it, but that wasn't too noticeable.

The stag smiled ever so slightly, a rarity for him, something he almost never did. It was more of a smirk, but might be considered a smile for his upturned velveteens. His orbs remained the same, no difference in lighting, no spark, no nothing. Her response was some what witty, maybe it's what had kept her alive for so long in this place she most likely called home, seeing as she had no other. The stag slowly moved towards where she had paused in her flight, long smoke hued limbs crushing the soft dead earth beneath them as he moved.
I wouldn't expect that from you, Lightning, oh not at all
His lyrics now had taken a different tone, patronizingly monotone, it was a whole new gear to the stag. Her words appeared to be those of truth, but one can never trust a vixen.
Mine, Deception. If a herd you want, a herd you'll get.
Tone had softened to a normal voice, whatever normal was for the dark brute. He stopped talking for the moment, deciding to hold in his poison, saving it for another mare, another vix.

Lightning was now facing him, listening carefully to his words. Her head was held high as he spoke the word Lightning.
"Black Lightning to you. Call me Lightning and any respect you have already earned will be gone."
'Well, those words aren't all true, he hasn't earned any respect....' she chuckled in her mind at the thought. Nicknames were seen to her as an act of respect. That they had earned some respect in order to call someone other than thier real name. In these days, she took everything seriously.

He gave a slight smirk at her sharpness at his so called disrespect. The vixen's head was held high, proud, thingyy, arrogant, something the stag didn't have time for. Creatures that thought too much of themselves were worth nothing in his mind, unless they were selfish enough to put them selves in danger to protect their homeland, which was highly unlikely from the animal before him. This one appeared to have more common sense then that.
What respect
He paused, he didn't care if he had the respect of his mares, he just wanted control over them. Yes that may have sounded overpowering but he didn't want respect, his herd used to roam free with a chosen leader, but not one respected that leader. They feared him.
Lightning?
He smirked, vocals dripping with scarcasm, cool to the touch. Harks shifted back on their place on his crania, as orbs stared into the others awaiting a response.

The mare's maw lifted and returned a smirk.
"If you want me at my best then I must respect you. I don't fear you, so respect is your best shot. Without something keeping me there, I will not be loyal, and I will not be at my best."
She replied, her voice had not changed its tone, but she was mentally grinding her teeth at the fact he had just called her Lightning again.
"And if no one in the herd is at thier best, your herd could be depleted before you accomplish anything....But, of course, you might never have a herd either."
She added, her voice was still quite monotone, but on the inside, she was edging to pull him to the ground. Though he was bigger than her, she was still quick and smart in battle. But she's are all points that aren't needed to be brought up, a battle wasn't what she was looking for...she guessed. That other side was always lurking inside of her, she could feel it lingering. She had always fought to keep it in check, knowing it could get her in trouble. Though her body didn't have an aggressive posture, her auds were still back, but not as fiercly. Her tail still flicked away the blood sucking pests normally. She wasn't easily frightened, more -for lack of a better word- agitated.
